Obsessed with Smoothies

Smoothies have become a staple in my morning routine. It first started out as a healthy on the go option for those early morning work days when I didn't really have time to make a full sit down breakfast. Now it has turned into an every day obsession! I wake up, go to the kitchen, grab my blender and make a fruit filled breakfast smoothie that is much healthier than my former choice of a donut or bagel. With fruit, healthy seeds, leafy greens, and adding in protein powder - this makes the perfect meal that fills me up and gives me the energy I need first thing in the morning.

The great thing about smoothie is there are so many different recipes out there, you'll never get bored. Over the past couple months, I've played around with a bunch of different ingredients and have found a ton of combinations that I absolutely love. Today I'm sharing with you two of my favorites.

Berry Blast
1 cup frozen berries
1 frozen banana
Handful of spinach
1 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon flax seeds
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 scoop protein powder (optional)

Peach Cobbler
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups sliced frozen peaches
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 scoop protein powder (optional)

To make // Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

One extremely helpful tip I found is to prepackage your smoothies. I do this weekly and find it to be very convenient. Take all your ingredients (except liquids), put them into individual baggies, label with what you need to add in (liquid ingredients), and store in the freezer until you're ready to eat. When you're ready to enjoy - dump your bag into the blender, add liquids, blend, and enjoy!
