We seem to be on a real DIY apartment decor kick lately. Perfect timing because spring-cleaning has started in my house and along with that usually comes lots of redecorating. Creating my own stamps and designing art prints is something I have wanted to try for a long time. I was originally going to try this project using a rolling pin, but then came across the idea of using a toilet paper roll and paint roller instead. This change gave the project more flexibility to swap out designs and not be as permanent.
We created four different patterns that are all unique and easy to make. Follow the steps below to make a simple rolling stamp that you'll want to use over and over again. Happy crafting!

Supplies:
Small Paint Roller with Cover
Empty Toilet Paper Rolls
Craft Foam (self-adhesive)
Stamp Ink Pads (any color)
Paper
Scissors

Step One // Decide what shapes and patterns you'd like to create for your rolling stamp. Draw or trace the shapes on craft foam paper. Cut out the designs and attach them to the empty toilet paper rolls. This will be easiest if you get the self-adhesive type of craft foam.
Tip: To make a rolling stamp with small circles, use a hole puncher. It worked perfectly!

Step Two // Slide the toilet paper roll over the small paint roller. Roll your stamp over an ink pad in the color of your choice. Make sure the whole stamp is coated with ink.

Step Three // Roll the inked stamp across paper to create a beautiful design. Get creative! Mix and match your different stamps to create designs with two or more patterns.
Tip: Things might get a bit messy if you want your stamp to go near or off the edge of your paper. Cover the table with newspaper, craft paper, etc.

We had a blast making these rolling stamps. Such a simple way to make a personal piece of art. If you make some of your own, we'd love it if you share them with us!
