Cake Batter Popcorn

Things around here have been pretty busy for both myself and my husband all summer. On the rare day we have off and get some time to relax, our free nights usually consists of a couch, a blanket, and our new best friend Netflix. Before we pick a movie to watch, I'm usually in the kitchen making a snack for us to enjoy. I'm a huge popcorn lover and always have a stash of kernels in my pantry. Cake Batter Popcorn has been popping up all over Pinterest and it instantly caught my eye. Craving something sweet and salty, I decided to give it a try. By the time the movie was done, so was the popcorn! White chocolate, cake mix, and sprinkles: who could say no to that?

Whether you're hosting a birthday party, movie night, or just want to something different, this cake batter popcorn is the perfect quick snack for any occasion. See below for the full recipe.

Cake Battered Popcorn
1/3 cup popcorn kernels
1 cup melted white chocolate
1/2 cup dry white cake mix
1/2 rainbow sprinkles

Step One // Pop your popcorn (as directed)
Step Two // Line baking sheet with parchment paper and spread popcorn evenly over sheet.
Step Three // Melt chocolate, then stir together with cake mix.
Step Four // Immediately pour chocolate cake mix evenly over popcorn.
Step Five // Add sprinkles, mix again, and let popcorn sit until mixture hardens (about 15-20 minutes).

Tip: For an extra kick, pick out white chocolate with some added flavor mixed in. Ours had tropical fruit pieces. Delicious!
