Summer in the City

Summer is finally starting to settle over the city. And after embracing our inner homebodies all winter long, we're more than excited to get out, explore, and soak up all Chicago has to offer in these precious few warm months. We can't wait for movies in the park, plenty of outdoor concerts, street festivals, backyard bar-b-ques, brunch al fresco, bike rides all over town, sunny days spent at the beach, and hot nights gathered around a bonfire. What are you most looking forward to this Summer?

The other day we found ourselves in the West Loop grabbing coffee at the Allis with a favorite new friend. (By the way, if you haven't been to the Allis...go. Like, right now! The space is taking coffee dates to a whole new level.) It's not a neighborhood we spend a ton of time in, so we decided to do some wandering. Besides, like, a million amazing restaurants popping up everywhere (Grange Hall, Little Goat Diner, Au Cheval, to name a few) the West Loop is the former (and in some spots still current) home to the city's meat packing district, giving the neighborhood a very cool industrial vibe. There is so much street art and so many colorful murals plastering the walls of old factories and warehouse. It's such a vibrant place!
