Herron Clothier Weaving Workshop

It's no secret that woven wall hangings are having a moment right now. And we are absolutely obsessed! While weaving itself is a centuries old tradition that can be as practical (in certain forms) as it is beautiful, we're loving how modern the medium feels as we see it popping up everywhere. It's a craft that we've both been itching to try our hand at. So when we heard that Humboldt House was hosting a weaving workshop taught by the insanely talented Dee of Herron Clothier, we signed up on the spot. And we're so happy that we did!

The two day class was intense and amazing. We spent the evenings chatting up our fellow classmates (hi, guys!), drinking wine, and learning just a ton about lap looms and weaving. Besides being a super rad chick, Dee was such a great teacher! Walking out of the workshop on the last day feeling like we conquered something new such was a wonderful feeling.
If you are interested in learning about weaving, definitely check out a local workshop in your area. Do you live in Chicago? Dee is teaching more classes in August, so sign up here!

  2. What a beautiful workshop. Unfortunately, I am about 6 hours from Chicago, but maybe someday!

  4. Hello! This looks like my kind of gathering. Are the shuttles and shed sticks from Simplicity as well?

  5. Hi Gwen! We're actually not sure who made these shuttles and shed sticks. They were provided to us for the workshop but we didn't get to keep them. Our go to for lovely weaving accessories is Board & Bread. They make such beautiful products!
